Kool Runnings Water Park

Hello again, on this post i'm going to be writing about the thrilling and fun-filled Kool Runnings water park which is an excellent getaway for families. The water park is located o the long stretch of beaches mentioned in my previous post called Negril. I personally remember visiting this park a few years ago and having an amazing time with my family. The workers were great, the food, the water slides were great and obviously the live animal show was amazing.

My sister and I taking part in the live animal show

I also feel that it is a really great place to take a family because while some rides are both thrilling and exhilarating like the "lightening bolt" others are quite calming like the "Rio Bueno Leisure river," so depending on whether you are looking for relaxation or thrill this water park is great. My favorite water slide would have to had been the green grotto water slide, which was done as a tribute to the green grotto caves in Jamaica. This specific water slide featured complete darkness in order to make it feel as if the rider was actually in a dark cave. There were nine large water slides in total that you can visit once you enter the park which you can ride as many  times as you want to. As well as amazing water slides the park also features great food. The water park has many places were food can be purchased, this includes the Knock out sports bar, sweet potato grill, kool blends juice bar, the dash-een restaurant and guava jelly cafe. My personal favorite to enjoy a good meal would be the knock out sports bar which has an excellent 'from the grill' menu at a great price. On the other hand if the family would just like to have a small snack , I recommend the guava jelly cafe, which has a less filling menu to chose from. As well as food and slides, the park also features live entertainment on certain days. As previously stated I remember visiting the park with my family ad friends and being able to witness an animal show, in which the main star was a snake! Once again adding to my already trilling experience.
If water slides aren't your thing, at the park there is also a large section called the Adventure zone which features a large array of exciting activities. The Adventure zone is completely seperate from the waterpark, but both can still be visited in a day. The activities that ca be done in this area include the Kayaking adventure, go-cart racing, outdoor lazer combat, jamboo rafting, kool kanoe adventure and the paintball adventure. My personal favorite would have to have been the Jamboo rafting which is in a more relaxing setting and allowed guests to sit on a wooden raft as it sailed along a breathtaking river.

Jamboo Rafting

This area of the park also features the same restaurants as the water park section and also has in girt shop in which souvenirs can be bought and a game arcade a large selection of games can be played by kids and kids at heart.
Now onto the prices of the water park. There are many packages that families as able to chose from, the first being admission into the water park section. For general admission into the water park the price in only $33 each and rides on all the water slides are included. For $69 each for rides on all the water slides plus select adventure zone rides. In order to ride the rides that are not included in this VIP package, they must be paid for separately. For example the go-cart racing is $7.50 per person, the outdoor laser combat is $20 per person and the Jamboo rafting is $44 per person.

Hope you enjoyed my post, next time I will be writing about an adventure park, filled with unique attractions

Introduction

Hey I’m Abigail. I currently live in Barbados but I was born in Jamaica, were I lived for ten years then moved to Bermuda for about six years. I really enjoyed my time in these different Caribbean islands and was inspired by their picturesque scenery and amazing attraction. As well as this, I really enjoy travel and visiting new interesting places without having to spend too much. I also love spending time with my family while on vacation so I decided to write this blog about Jamaica because there are so many great places there that families tend to think are’ out of reach’, whether it is because of the expense or the safety.
My family and I on vacation

There are many incorrect assumptions out there stating that Jamaica is ‘too dangerous’ for a family vacation, but guess what! Most of those assumptions are incorrect. Jamaica is a reasonably large island consisting of over 4000 square miles and 2,709,300 people. Assuming we are all intelligent people, this means that since the country is not going through a period of war, every single corner of the country could not possibly be unsafe. In other words, in my opinion there are only a few parts of the country that are pretty sketchy. So in my blog I will be showing you just how much fun your family can have at a good price with safety guaranteed.  The attractions I will be writing about are also ones that are, as previously stated, cost friendly as well as kid friendly, so we won’t have any problems with inappropriate settings or overly expensive costs. The attractions I will be writing about range from thrilling amusement parks that both kids and adults are bound to enjoy to calm, serene waterfalls were both kids and adults can relax. The prices of these unique and exhilarating attractions will range from free to about $170 (us), plus your airfare of course, which may not be as expensive as you think.
Accommodation in Jamaica can also be quite inexpensive depending on where you want to stay and what you are willing to pay. There are many gorgeous places and hotels in which one can stay at in Jamaica. These hotels are located in areas such as Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril. In my personal opinion the best are to stay in is Negril, not only is it the safest but it features a long stretch of beached and hotels most of which are reasonably priced, so that you are able to visit some of the incredible attractions located in this area without playing too much. Hotels I would suggest to visit in this area include the light house Inn 2 which is only $50 per night and features a both rustic and homely feel. If you are looking for something more high class, I suggest the Moon dance cliffs which feature a group of breathtaking, spacious villas ranging from one bed room to five bedrooms.
So, since you are now equipped with accommodation ideas, remember to visit my blog again to see what amazing attractions will be featured!!!!
